Restorative Dentistry

Almost everyone will experience tooth decay at some point in their life. Swift detection and correction can minimize the significant expense and inconvenience associated with more serious problems caused by tooth decay. At 12 South Dental Studio it is our focus to be as conservative with our approach to dentistry as possible. It is our belief that when we save natural tooth structure today, it will benefit our smile in the future.

Tooth Colored Fillings/Bondings
When the area of a tooth in need of repair is small, we are able to use composite resin to restore the tooth. Composite resin is a highly esthetic material that perfectly matches the natural appearance of teeth. This material is easily used on both front and back teeth. When the area in need of repair is small, this restoration can last for many years.

Ceramic Crowns and Onlays
If the area of tooth in need of repair is large, a composite filling can become weak and will not last the desired length of time. In these cases, Dr. Baese might suggest a crown, onlay or a partial crown. When possible we will always suggest a conservative onlay opposed to a crown. All of our crowns and onlays are made from ceramic, a highly esthetic, strong, and metal free material. This material is bonded to the natural tooth structure, creating a highly esthetic and durable restoration.

Dental Implants
Dental implants are the preferred choice for missing or non-restorable teeth. After the dental implant has been placed, Dr. Baese will create a customized fitting and crown that will seamlessly blend in with the natural bite and appearance. Dental implants are incredibly durable and long lasting.

Bite Guards/Splints
It is common to carry daily stress in the muscles that support our teeth. Clenching and grinding our teeth can create sore muscles and joints. It can also prematurely wear teeth and break dental restorations. After careful analysis of the teeth and symptom, a bite guard or splint could be recommended. Each splint is uniquely designed to focus on the signs and symptoms discovered and will be focused to relieve pain and protect teeth.

Sedation
Complimentary nitrous oxide (laughing gas) provided to all patients during treatment. We strive to make each visit as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
